A team of ghost hunters have been filming the new season of an Amazon Prime documentary in Chester which explores paranormal activity in the city.
The Haunted Hunts team have been visiting different parts of Chester to film the second series of the Amazon Prime show The Haunted Hunts – Civitas Spirituum, which sees them investigating landmark locations in the city and speaking to local people who have experienced ghostly encounters.
Having enjoyed popular viewing figures for their first series, The Haunted Hunts – Behind The Shadows, which saw the paranormal team investigate the darkest and scariest locations in the country, they have decided to focus more on British historical cities for their latest documentary.
Lead investigator Danny Moss told CheshireLive: “We are a paranormal team best known for the Sky series ‘Search for the Truth’ and the first series of The Haunted Hunts – Behind the Shadows where we travel around the most haunted locations in the country.
“But we decided the new series would be based on a different type of haunting. We wanted to charge it up and move away from the ‘darker’ side of things and focus on British historical cities – and there really is no better place than Chester – obviously this is one of the most haunted places in the UK.”
“This series will be completely different. The team are spending weeks in in Chester city centre exploring the city’s most haunted locations, and we’ve spoken to historians and different people who have experienced ghostly sightings,” he added.
“We have already visited some of the city’s most famous landmarks including Chester Cathedral, St John’s Church and lower Bridge Street so there will be definitely some sights viewers will recognise.”
The Haunted Hunts – Civitas Spirituum is scheduled to air on Amazon Prime in early 2020.
