A woman says she has been left with chills after spotting a ghostly figure in the ruins of a Derbyshire stately home.
Charlene Lowe Kemp was visiting Scarsdale Hall, near Chesterfield, with a group of fellow paranormal investigators when the figure came into view in the abandoned hall.
She says the group, who travel across the UK under the name Paranormal Hauntings, set up shop in the skeleton of the building and were delighted with what they found during their trip in April this year.
The instruments they use to detect paranormal activity immediately began to go off and the group sense a presence in the building with them.
And things got even more bizarre when two members of the team suddenly and mysteriously became ill and needed to go home, leading to the night being cut short.

Charlene says the apparition is believed to be the spirit of a woman who is looking for her husband who went off to war but did not return.
“Myself and the team went up to investigate because it’s said to be haunted by a monk, a lady and a man,” the 31-year-old said.
“As soon as we got there a medium who was with us said there was a floating monk-type figure.
“We placed our equipment down and it was going off at the time. We were streaming it live on Facebook and people watching said they could see a lady stood in the corner.”
However, the team’s trip was brought to a premature end after two members of the group inexplicably fell ill.
“We had to leave early after two members of the team became ill with belly ache, to the point where they had to go home,” she said.
“They live in their separate households and it’s not normally like them to feel like that.
“Being there clearly really affected them. We were walking around and the equipment was going crazy.”
The group were left amazed to later find footage from their Facebook steam appearing to show the figure of the lady in the room with them.
“People were sending us screenshots of it,” Charlene said.
“It was only on there for one or two seconds as the camera was panning round.
“I’ve been there in the day and I’ve had a look to see if there was anything that could’ve caused it, but there’s nothing there.
“To find something like that is quite rare – sometimes you can be there for hours and not get anything.
“I don’t get scared or nervous, I’m more curious – it makes you strive for other experiences like it.”
