Abandoned Haunted House — This attraction — off of I-94 just north of Highway 11 in Racine County — offers two haunted houses (“Ambush” and “Hysteria”) to tour. And, no, you can’t tour just one. There is also “Stalker” (a haunted cornfield) and a new attraction where you throw axes! Opens at 7 p.m. Friday-Saturday through Nov. 2. It’s also open Sundays, Oct. 20 and 27, and Thursday, Oct. 31. “Blackout Night,” a lights-out haunted house tour, is Nov. 2. Soul Reapers Haunted House at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds — This haunted attraction in Wilmot is open at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 2. Dungeon of Doom — This first-rate attraction scares the crowds who come to 600 29th St. in Zion, Ill. If you’re feeling brave, you can also opt for the “Buried Dead or Alive” experience. Six Flags Great America’s Halloween Fright Fest — Features kid-friendly fun in the daytime and terrifying thrills after dark. The theme park in Gurnee, Ill., features haunted houses, “scare zones,” live stage shows and about 200 roaming monsters throughout the park.
