Spooky season is upon us and now as the days become darker quicker it is the perfect time to witness the ghostly shadows of once haunted houses. Merley House in Wimborne will be offering an eerie ghost hunt this November to get you into the spooktacular spirit.

This 18th century Georgian manor house will grant visitors exclusive access after dark into the home to witness ghostly apparitions and other paranormal activity. The event is not for the faint hearted as organisers at Merley House say that the ghost hunt has left guests “feeling petrified and refusing to enter some rooms”.

They also claim that the stately home, which is usually open for functions, weddings and other events, has a “rather sinister feel by night”. The ghost hunt is being hosted by Paranormal Eye UK, so if you’re brave enough to witness ghosts and paranormal sightings of this old, haunted house, then this event might just be for you.

As well as offering exclusive after dark access, the event also allows visitors to access the many rooms and eerie corridors of the historical home. You’ll work in small groups, so you won’t be alone, which is reassuring considering organisers have said visitors have reported feeling watched or even grabbed.

There will also be the opportunity to use different equipment and techniques to seek out the ghosts. During the investigation, there will be a spiritual medium present to seek out any ghostly apparitions, especially as people have reportedly seen a woman looking out of the upper front window.

The event is open for over 18s only and you’ll need to bring a torch with you on the venture. The venue has lots of stairs and uneven floors, so its best to wear suitable footwear, should be you be brave enough to take part.

The ghost hunt starts at 9pm and runs until 2am on Saturday, November 5. Although tickets are sold out, there is the chance to be added to the waiting list should anyone cancel.
